I never dreamed that I would not be walking down my hometown of Paris, Ontario .Canada doing my Christmas Shopping. I never dreamed that I would become the Amazon Woman on the street. I never should have moved to the city.

It has really happen, and it feels so strange. Thinking back of shopping in a linen store, a beautiful greeting store, also clothing stores for men and women, was the best memory of my life during the holidays. Just to see the beauty of the town, every light decorated, every store front decorated. Paris is still like that, I wish I could go back.

Yet now when you do go to many stores, you do a lot of shopping, you are not even greeted by a cashier when you are done. No. you become an employee, you check out all of the articles you picked out. Than load the bags up, pay for the purchase after adding how many bags you bought. Now you carry all of those bags from the cart to the car. When you arrive home, you unload,

Just typing that made me totally exhausted.

We talk to robots on phones, rather than people. We order on line and hope that when it arrives at your house it looks exactly like it looked in the picture.

With respect to all that I have stated, and it is not every store I shop in. My big question is, will this become the way of life and stores will be a loading dock.

Dont Take Away The Joy-Please

Well , I love technology and please do not get me wrong. I even went to school when it first came out to learn as much as I could. Students today are more intelligent than ever. Companies are more organized and run better than ever.

I guesss what I am saying, as a person who loves to see others. Who loves the joy of the small town and staff helping you find things. The joy of a cashier asking how your day was, or just a smile while they ring in your purchases. Is so wonderful and I personally appreciate it.

I finally did shop today, local but I came across some of the most caring and compassionate people while I was finishing up my last presents. Coming home with what I hand picked out, really felt great. Better yet, I was not so tired that I have them wrapped. I had a great walk while shopping and had the joy of window shopping too.

So, change is hard and I understand that better than anyone. Is the world one day going to be ran by computers, less people.

I hope not.

We All Need Technology

We all need the ability to broaden our horizons with technology, with research and all at the touch of our hands. I just hope I am not the only one who feels this way, or maybe it is because it has a lot to do with my generation. Should technology replace people or jobs, those who are so important and many times the reason one loves to go out.

I personally love these moments.
